The Every-Other-Day Diet – Keep the Weight Off

Description

The “Every Other Day” diet, is as the name says it, a schedule where you fast one day, and you eat how much you want on the next day. The alternate-day diet protocol was conceived by Dr. Krista Varady, after getting a PhD on calorie restriction and fasting. She started the research on intermittent fasting, after observing that the drop off rate from regular diets was incredibly high. Her hunch was that with alternate day fasting the participants would stick longer with the program. She was right.
Doctor Varady’s protocol calls for one day of no calorie restrictions, and one day on 500 calories. The diet doesn’t think that what you eat is very important, so junk food is allowed.

The book has great reviews, and readers have praised this schedule in the review section and awarded it an average of 4.2 stars out of 5. I read the Kindle edition, which is cheaper than the paper book.
